African American Parent Organization

AAPO Mission Statement:
The Norwalk High School African-American Parent Outreach Group (AAPO) is focused on identifying enhancements, solutions, and actions which will empower students to achieve and have an enriching experience at Norwalk High School. It is important that parents play a key role in the education of their children and the Parent Outreach Group provides the forum for parents to exchange thoughts, and to also learn and implement strategies which will have an impact on student development and growth. This year, the Parent Outreach Group will present college scholarships to deserving students in the 2023 senior class. Topics to be discussed at upcoming meetings include: college tours of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), increasing minority student enrollment in Honors/AP classes, attending BOE meetings, fundraising activities, and increasing communication of information to parents.
