2026 Kevin M. Eidt Norwalk High School Scholarship Announcement

On Saturday April 11th, the Kevin M. Eidt Memorial Scholarship Fund, (Kevin’s Fund), announced Joy Weng as the 30th recipient of Kevin’s Norwalk High School Scholarship.

The $120,000 scholarship was awarded to Joy judged as the most outstanding senior in the Norwalk High School Class of 2026. This scholarship is in recognition of her outstanding depth of commitment and breadth of interests, involvements, and accomplishments across the spectrum of academics, athletics, arts, and community and religious service, all areas in which Kevin participated and excelled. Joy will be attending Northwestern University in the fall.

Gregry Calnon, chair of the Fund’s Scholarship Selection Committee, Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, 1997 graduate of Norwalk High School and first recipient of Kevin’s Norwalk High School scholarship, presented Joy with the scholarship at the Fund’s annual scholarship presentation event held this year at the Birchwood Country Club in Westport.

Joy’s weighted GPA at the end of junior year was 4.5. During senior year she maintained a 4.9 GPA while taking advanced placement courses in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Literature & Composition, and Statistics.

She a member of the Kevin M. Eidt Chapter of the National Honor Society, and Tri-M Music Honors Society, and member of the Superintendent’s Student Leadership Council.

She is a four year member of the Varsity Cross Country as well as the Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field team and is Varsity Captain of all three teams. She is a member of the Honors Principal Orchestra and first stand violist. She is a three year volunteer for the Norwalk Maritime Aquarium, Norwalk ACTS group, and summer volunteer for the Norwalk Public Library.
