Summer School

Extended School Year (ESY) Program

High school students who qualify for ESY will attend classes from 8am to noon at Norwalk High School. Related services including occupational therapy, speech/language, and counseling will also be provided. Additional special education staff will be on hand to provide assistance to students who are attending credit recovery

High School Summer Academy Credit Recovery

Summer courses for high school students will take place July 5 through August 5, from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM. These courses are available to qualifying high school students entering grades 10 and 11, and those students who are seeking to complete grade 12. Students have a variety of options to help them earn missing credits and engage in enrichment and support opportunities.

Credit recovery courses provide the opportunity for students to re-engage in the core curriculum. The curriculum model will include a compacted standards-based design to ensure that students successfully master core learning prior to their transition to the next course in a given trajectory. For many students, this will provide the necessary credits to graduate.

High School Summer Academy Twilight Program

Last spring, NPS launched its successful Twilight Program to support high school students who have alternative schedules and may work and support their families in multiple ways during the daytime. The NPS summer Twilight Program will continue this year to engage high school students who are not able to attend classes during the day. Courses will be held in-person during the evenings, which runs 4 PM to 8 PM
