Financial Aid Resources at NHS

NHS Financial Aid Services

Ms. Laura Blackwell will be in the Career Center every Wednesday starting mid- October from 8:30am to 11:30am. She can assist students and parents with the FAFSA and other related forms as well as fee waivers for college applications (for those that qualify). Please call the Career Center at (203) 838-4481 ext. 13233 to schedule an appointment or contact Mr. Sullivan at

  • Students who have scheduled an appointment will need to stop by the Career Center to pick up the appropriate forms before their scheduled meeting.
  • Students should attend the meeting. Parents are welcome to attend but are not required.
  • Students under 18 years old must have a parent sign the Application for Assistance form
  • A copy of parents’ most recent tax form is required to determine eligibility.

Scholarship Information

Scholarship opportunities are listed in Naviance/Family Connection and are typically updated yearly beginning in December. Seniors are encouraged to visit the site regularly. Some scholarships have a direct link to a website, and others have a paper application that can be picked up in the Guidance Career Center 209C.

Norwalk High School Scholarship Fund: Common Scholarship; The NHS 2017-2018 Common Scholarship application is available, click here for the application. At this point students may download a copy or see their Guidance Counselor or Career Center 209C for a copy.

  • The Scholarship Fund offers financial assistance to graduates who are planning to continue their education at two or four year schools.
  • Corporations, local merchants, civic groups, community members, faculty and parents contribute scholarships to this fund. The Norwalk High School Scholarship Committee selects recipients based on financial need, contributions to the community, contributions to the school and academic interest/achievement. To apply for these scholarships, students must complete a Norwalk High School Common Scholarship Application on Naviance Family Connection which is generally available the first week of January of the student’s senior year. The scholarships are presented at the Norwalk High School Scholarship Ceremony in late May.
